Spanish golfer Teresa Diez Moliner is set to kick off her season at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open (MKLO), taking place at Vipingo Ridge’s PGA Baobab Course on February 8.

Moliner earned her spot in MKLO’s Category 12, designated for the Top 20 in the Ladies European Tour (LET) Qualifying School.

Following an impressive performance at the LET Q School in Morocco, where she finished 16th on 11-under-par after eight demanding rounds, the 24-year-old golfer secured her LET card for the 2024 season. Moliner, who turned professional in 2021, expressed her joy and pride in obtaining the tour card, highlighting the crucial birdie she secured on the last hole.

Reflecting on the journey, Moliner shared, “I was super happy and super proud. It came down to the last hole, and I knew I needed to go lower than ten under. On the 18th, I knew I had to get a birdie, and I got it.”

Having concentrated her efforts on earning a LET card through the Access Series after missing out at the 2022 Q School, Moliner had a promising start to her LETAS season with a top-10 finish at the Santander Golf Tour- Girona in her home country.

Despite facing challenges during the season, Moliner expressed gratitude for the experience on the LET Access Series, emphasizing the supportive environment and the valuable preparation it provided.

Looking ahead to the new year, Moliner is excited about the opportunities on a larger stage and the camaraderie with fellow Spanish qualifiers. She stated, “It’s a big Spanish crew, and we’re going to be traveling all together, so it’s nice to have them on the side.”

The MKLO will mark the beginning of Moliner’s first full season, and she is eager to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
