The United States Terry ‘Tee Tee’ Twanisha emerged victorious in the women’s 100m race with a time of 10.86 seconds at Kasarani during the fourth edition of Kip Keino Classic.
The win marked her debut in the competition and set her season in motion. In a post-race interview, Twanisha expressed her delight, saying, “It’s amazing having won in Nairobi and I’ll be heading back home for more preparations.
The season has started and I will be taking meet-by-meet.” Zoe Hobbs from New Zealand came second in 10.97 seconds, while Rani Rosius from Belgium secured third place with a time of 11.08 seconds.
Double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica won the category last season, but she was unable to compete in this year’s event due to a knee injury suffered on Friday before the Saturday Kasarani showpiece.
