The 20th Edition of SOYA Gala Receives Ksh. 6 Million Boost

Numerous corporations have pledged a combined total of Ksh. 6 million to support the event in a significant boost to the upcoming Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA) gala.

Addressing the media in Nairobi on Tuesday, SOYA’s founder, Paul Tergat, expressed gratitude for the generous support, highlighting its crucial role in ensuring the success of the milestone event.

“We are truly thankful for the passion our partners have shown towards the growth of sports in the country, and we look forward to a continued partnership in the years ahead,” Tergat stated.

National Social Security Fund’s Corporate Communications Manager, Dr. Chris Khisa, commended the awards for recognizing sporting excellence, as he presented a substantial sponsorship check of Ksh. 3 million.

“We are delighted to be part of the SOYA awards, and we remain committed to contributing to the advancement of sports in the country,” Khisa remarked enthusiastically.

For the past 14 years, the Communication Authority of Kenya has steadfastly supported the SOYA Awards, pledging a significant contribution of Ksh. 1 million once again this year.

Communication Authority of Kenya’s Communication Manager, Purity Ndwiga, expressed pride in the enduring partnership with SOYA, emphasizing its role in inspiring athletes and promoting national sports development.

“We are proud to be associated with the SOYA Awards, which continue to inspire our sportspeople and contribute significantly to the growth of sports in the country,” Ndwiga affirmed.

The prestigious awards gala, scheduled to take place at the Kenya International Conference Center, promises to honor outstanding sports personalities from the past year. Finalists, carefully selected by a distinguished panel of judges, will be unveiled this week, marking the beginning of the celebration of their achievements in various sports disciplines.
