The stage is set for the Equator Rally in Voi

The Equator Rally, Kenya’s second round of the 2023 African Rally Championship, will take place from March 17th to 19th on the outskirts of Voi, with most of the competitive stages around the Taita Estate.

Following the Sikh Union Club’s abrupt withdrawal from organizing the rally due to a lack of funds, the newly appointed WRC Safari Rally organizing committee will now take over.

Last year’s Equator Rally winner, Karan Patel, took first place with a time of 2:26:55.4, winning five out of the eight stages.

FIA Young Star driver, Jeremy Wahome, secured his first-ever podium finish in the ARC, timing 2:29:56.0 to take second place.

The event serves as a build-up to the upcoming 2023 Safari Rally, which will be held from June 22nd to 25th around Nairobi and Naivasha. This will be the seventh round in the 2023 World Rally Championship calendar, according to the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) World Motor Sport Council.
