Brad Ibs, the head coach of Nairobi City Thunder, has commended his team for their outstanding performance over the weekend, securing an away victory in Eldoret and maintaining an unbeaten streak in the Kenya men’s basketball premier league.
Thunder defeated Eldonets Platinum 91-58 at Uasin Gishu grounds in Eldoret, bringing their total points to 26 after 13 matches, leading the league standings.
“We were delighted to secure a win in that game. Eldoret has historically been a challenging place to play, and their passionate fan base adds to the intensity,” Ibs said.
Ibs attributed their victory to a strong defensive and offensive game plan. “Our defensive effort was excellent, and we capitalized on our defense to generate points. Additionally, our shooting was on point, and we capitalized on free throws to keep our offense flowing. We also managed to give playing time to many players, which was satisfying,” Ibs added.
In other matches, Equity Dumas Hawks team manager Zadock Adika expressed satisfaction with both teams’ performances after securing wins in Eldoret. Equity Hawks defeated Eldonets 86-55, while Equity Dumas secured a 79-43 victory over Eldoret.
“The ladies’ team displayed an impressive performance, controlling the game from start to finish. The men’s team faced challenges initially but managed to catch up in the subsequent quarters. Our new recruits, including national team players, performed well, and we are hopeful for a stronger performance in the second leg,” Adika said.
