Tottenham managed to come back from a two-goal deficit to clinch a 2-2 draw with Manchester United In an exciting match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Manchester United appeared to be in control in the first half after Jadon Sancho (7) and Marcus Rashford (44) scored two well-taken goals.
However, Spurs, who were still reeling from their recent 6-1 loss to Newcastle and the subsequent sacking of Cristian Stellini as interim boss, managed to pull one back through Pedro Porro (56) and then levelled the score thanks to Heung-Min Son’s conversion of Harry Kane’s low cross (79).
Although both teams had chances to score in the second half, Manchester United will regret their missed opportunities, with Bruno Fernandes hitting the underside of the bar when it appeared easier to score.
The draw takes Spurs to fifth place, with six points behind Manchester United, but with two more games played. Meanwhile, Manchester United remain in a good position to finish in the top four, although their failure to secure the win showed that there are issues that require the attention of the manager, Erik ten Hag.
Despite the energy-sapping FA Cup semi-final victory over Brighton last Sunday, in which the game went into extra time and penalties, Manchester United only made one change, bringing Sancho in for Anthony Martial.
