Ulinzi Target Semifinals After Quarterfinals Win in KBF Playoffs

Posted on

Ulinzi Warriors head coach, Bernard Mufutu, has shifted his focus to the semifinals of the Kenya Men’s Basketball Premier League playoffs after defeating Eldonets Platinum 2-0 in the quarterfinals playoffs.

The Warriors are now set to face Equity Dumas in the semifinals, beginning this Friday after the Bankers qualified for the semis by defeating the University of Nairobi’s Terror in the quarters.

Despite losing two games to Equity Dumas in the regular season, Mufutu is cautioning his side against the mistakes that led to the losses, working on rebounding, boxing out, and avoiding unnecessary lapses in the training.

Equity Bank head coach, David Maina, is aware of the threat posed by his opponents and will take one game at a time. Zetech Sparks head coach, Maurice Obilo, is optimistic about sending Equity Hawks home when the two sides meet in the semifinal playoffs.

Zetech, who has been in good form this season, will want to ride on their current form to prevent the bankers from reaching the final.

The semi-final playoffs fixtures are set to start on Friday, May 12th, with games between Equity Hawks vs Zetech Sparks and Ulinzi Warriors vs Equity Dumas.

On Saturday, Strathmore Swords will face KPA while Thunder will play against KPA. On Sunday, Strathmore Swords will face KPA, and Equity Hawks will play Zetech Sparks.
