Underwhelming Juve Held To Goalless Draw By Genoa
Juventus’ struggle to regain their top form was evident as they played out a dull 0-0 draw against Genoa at home in Turin. Once title hopefuls, Massimiliano Allegri’s team has now fallen 16 points behind the league leaders, Inter Milan, after managing only one victory in their last eight Serie A outings.
Inter Milan, eyeing their 20th Scudetto, are set to face Napoli, needing five more victories to clinch the title. Meanwhile, Juventus faced disappointment and disapproval from their fans, who expressed their discontent at halftime and after the match.
Despite a lackluster performance, Juventus had opportunities to secure a win. Dusan Vlahovic nearly scored with two headers in the second half, and both Samuel Iling-Junior and Moise Kean hit the post. Vlahovic’s late dismissal for dissent means he will be absent for the upcoming match against Lazio following the international break.
The draw was significant for Genoa, managed by Alberto Gilardino, as it placed them 10 points clear of the relegation zone. On the other hand, AC Milan has the chance to extend their lead over Juventus to three points if they triumph in their away game against Verona.
