Bronny James, son of NBA icon LeBron James, has declared his intention to enter the 2024 draft, marking a significant step in his basketball journey.

This decision follows a challenging period for the 19-year-old, who experienced a cardiac arrest during practice at the University of Southern California (USC) less than a year ago.

Following surgery to address a congenital heart defect, Bronny made a triumphant return to the court, debuting for USC in December.

With aspirations to follow in his father’s footsteps, Bronny’s announcement aligns with LeBron’s expressed desire to share the court with his son. LeBron, who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, has openly discussed his anticipation to play alongside Bronny, emphasizing their familial bond.

Bronny shared his decision on Instagram, reflecting on his growth both on and off the court throughout the past year. Expressing gratitude to USC for his freshman year experience, he affirmed his commitment to entering the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.

Additionally, Bronny revealed his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal, exploring new opportunities for his collegiate career.

As the son of four-time NBA champion LeBron James, Bronny’s entry into the draft garners significant attention, considering his family’s legacy in the basketball world. LeBron, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players in history, recently achieved the milestone of becoming the first NBA player to score 40,000 career points.

The 2024 NBA draft is scheduled to take place on June 26-27, marking a pivotal moment in Bronny James’ basketball journey as he seeks to carve his own path in the sport.
