Victor Sila Clinches Victory at KCB East Africa Golf Tour’s Nakuru Leg

Victor Sila, a handicap 28 golfer, triumphed at the Nakuru Golf Course, scoring an impressive 43 stableford points to win the eighth leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour.

His victory came amidst a record turnout of over 250 participants, making it the year’s most attended event at the 18-hole course.

Joseph Mwangi, also playing off a handicap of 28, finished as the runner-up with a commendable 40 points, securing the title of overall male winner. Sila, reflecting on his win, praised the competitive spirit among the players and expressed gratitude to KCB for organizing the tournament.

In the women’s category, Margaret Mutwasi, with a handicap of 29, outperformed her rivals to claim the lady winner’s title with 39 points.

Meanwhile, KCB Bungoma Branch Manager and experienced golfer Eliud Siganga scored 41 points to take home the staff winner’s prize. The junior category saw Gurtej Sahota, a handicap 18 player, emerge victorious with 36 points.

The guest winner accolade went to Martin Mbugua, handicap 24, who returned 40 points. The longest drive awards were claimed by John Kamais for the men and Mercy Nyanchama for the women, while Patrick Mbagaya won the Closest to the Pin award.

The event continued into Sunday with a golf clinic for juniors and a tree planting initiative, highlighting KCB’s commitment to sustainability. A caddie tournament is also scheduled for Monday at the same venue, marking the second such event by KCB this year.

Looking ahead, the tour is set to proceed to Limuru for its ninth leg, as competitors vie for positions in the grand finale scheduled for December.
