WRC Safari Rally Kenya Cuts off  Maxine Wahome From the Young Rally Stars program

Posted on

WRC Safari Rally Kenya, the organization responsible for managing the World Rally Championship Kenya and related activities, has dropped  Maxine Wahome from its Young Rally Stars program.

The decision was made due to her current legal situation, as per a press release issued on Friday by the WRC Safari Rally Kenya’s Corporate Communications department.

Wahome is currently in custody under suspicion of murder charges against her former lover and fellow rally driver, Assad Khan.

The organization has been reviewing its relationship with Wahome and has decided to release her from further engagement in the program in order to allow her to deal with the ongoing legal developments.

The WRC Safari Rally is committed to developing and nurturing talent fairly and equitably, and Wahome’s suspension from the program is a setback for her career development.

She had previously won the WRC 3 category in last year’s WRC Safari Rally.

Khan was admitted to the hospital last December and later died from injuries sustained on the night of December 12, leading to Wahome’s investigation.

Wahome will remain in custody until March 15th, when she will be charged with the murder.
