Zambian Female Weightlifter Makes History at Arnold classics strongman Championships

Cherry Muchindu, a Zambian athlete, has made history by becoming the first indigenous African to win a Bronze Medal at the Arnold Classics Strongman Championships. 

The event was held in Washington, USA, and Muchindu finished third in the women’s open weight7 category, securing her place on the podium. 

In an interview with ZNBC sports, she expressed her commitment to improving her skills through training and aims to win Silver or Gold in her next competitions. 

Additionally, Patterson Muzondiwa, the President of the Zambia Strongman Federation, expressed his gratitude to the government for their support in enabling the team to travel. He affirmed that the athletes would continue to represent their country well by winning more medals and bringing glory to Zambia.

Cherry Muchindu’s historic achievement is an inspiration to all women, not just in Zambia but across the African continent. Her dedication, hard work, and determination serve as a reminder that with perseverance and resilience, anything is possible.

She has set a great example for young girls and women, showing them that they too can excel in any field they choose, regardless of their background or circumstances. Cherry Muchindu is a true role model and a source of pride for Zambia and Africa as a whole.
