Enes Unal marked his first Premier League start for Bournemouth with a goal as the Cherries secured victory over a lacklustre Brighton, reaching their highest points total in the top-flight.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 13th minute through Marcos Senesi, who nodded in from close range after Brighton failed to clear a corner.
Despite missing a chance in the first half, Unal found the net after the break, cleverly heading Dango Ouattara’s cross into the far corner for his second goal since joining on loan from Getafe in January.
Justin Kluivert sealed the win late on with a left-footed strike, his third goal in three home games, after driving at the Brighton defence impressively.
Brighton struggled to create meaningful chances throughout the game, with Simon Adingra’s effort being the closest, only to be tipped over the bar by Mark Travers.
The victory sees Bournemouth reach 48 points, surpassing their previous best top-flight haul in 2016-17, while Brighton, remaining 12th, have now won just six of their past 28 league games, with their season in danger of dwindling after a campaign that has deviated from their recent progress.
