The newly-married singer and Homa Bay County Brand Ambassador Akothee is set to lead a star-studded pack of athletes at The Roan Antelope 2023 half marathon, scheduled to take place from Friday to Saturday at Ruma National Park.
The event has attracted some of the most notable names in Kenya’s marathon field and features a Ksh.1.25 million cash prize for the winner.
In addition to showcasing an exciting sporting spectacle, the marathon aims to raise funds for the conservation of the endangered Roan Antelope.
To promote the event, Akothee and her team took to the streets of Homa Bay, where they were welcomed by enthusiastic crowds.
Despite some challenges, including being denied entry into a supermarket due to the frenzied activity of her supporters, Akothee managed to bring the town to a standstill with her presence.
Her friend Sandra Dacha, a local actress, accompanied her as they mingled with the public and participated in a mock run along a clean tarmac road.
Akothee’s busy schedule has become even more hectic since her recent marriage, as she balances her role as a wife with her government appointments and engagements.
However, her commitment to promoting events like The Roan Antelope half marathon demonstrates her dedication to supporting important causes and inspiring her fans to get involved in charitable initiatives.
