The eagerly awaited finals of the Paul Bitok International Volleyball Tournament in the men’s category have been rescheduled for June 22 at the Nyayo Stadium.
In the first semifinal match, Kenya Prisons will go head-to-head with Trailblazers, promising an intense battle on the court.
Kenya Prisons currently sit in second place in the Kenya Volleyball Federation league standings, accumulating 36 points. They trail the defending champions, General Service Unit, by just two points.
Trailblazers currently ranked fifth in the 16-team league, are unlikely to secure a playoff slot. Nevertheless, their encounter with Kenya Prisons is expected to commence at 9 am and is sure to showcase thrilling volleyball action.
In another exciting fixture, Kenya Ports Authority will face off against Kenya Defence Forces. This match promises fireworks as both teams exhibit exceptional skill and talent.
The finals of the tournament will take place later in the day, providing fans with an enthralling conclusion to the competition.
The tournament had been halted in April during the semifinal stage due to the unfortunate passing of the late Waithaka Kioni, the KVF president.
The matches were scheduled to resume on May 5-6 at the Moi Stadium, Kasarani Indoor Arena. However, Bitok, the tournament organizer, mentioned that the venue is already booked, prompting the decision to hold the finals at the Nyayo Stadium.
