Kenya’s participation in the 2024 COSAFA Cup has yielded positive outcomes, as the Harambee Stars have been drawn with two Southern African nations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Stars will compete against Namibia, Zimbabwe, and five-time champions Cameroon in Group J, with the tournament set to take place in Morocco in December.
Kenya’s Under-23 team made a notable appearance at the COSAFA Cup in South Africa, securing a 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in their final Group B match of the tournament.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the 2025 AFCON. Kenya aims to make a comeback to the tournament after missing the qualifiers for this year’s event due to a FIFA suspension. The Harambee Stars last participated in AFCON in Egypt in 2019.
