Kenya’s national rugby sevens team, Morans, has been placed in a challenging pool alongside hosts Ghana and Egypt for the upcoming Africa Games Rugby Sevens tournament, scheduled to be held from March 18-21 at the University of Ghana.
The Morans will start their campaign against the 16th-seeded team on the first day of the tournament, followed by a match against Egypt later in the day. On the second day, they will face Ghana before progressing to the knockout stages.
Other prominent rugby nations participating in the tournament include Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Nigeria, Tunisia, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, Libya, Niger, Benin, and Togo.
Currently, the team is undergoing intensive training at the Moi International Sports Center – Kasarani, with a residential camp set up for the next six days until their departure on March 13.
The final squad traveling for the tournament will be announced next week.
