Jorge Martin returned to his winning ways by clinching victory in an epic Tissot Sprint in MotoGP. The “Martinator” found himself locked in an intense battle with Marc Marquez throughout the race as they vied for the lead.
The competition reached a fever pitch when Marquez crashed out, leaving Martin to comfortably cross the finish line at the Gran Premio Estrella Galicia on Saturday.
Following Marquez’s crash, rookie Pedro Acosta of Red Bull secured the first podium spot after being promoted to second place, with Daniel Pedrosa coming in third.
It was yet another dramatic weekend in the racing world, with Marc Marquez going head-to-head with Martin at turn two. However, Martin seized the opportunity and found a gap to claim the top spot when Marquez had to abandon his mission.
Reigning World Champion Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo team had a difficult start to the sprint after colliding with South Africa’s Brad Binder and Marco Bezzecchi at turn one.
Fans were treated to another spectacular scene with a battle unfolding behind the race leaders. Alex Marquez, Binder, and Enea Bastianini were neck and neck, but all three lost their grip at turn five.
Dani Pedrosa initially finished fourth but benefited from Fabio Quartararo’s eight-second penalty. As a result of the penalty, Quartararo dropped to fifth place, with Franco Morbidelli securing fourth. Raul Fernandez finished the race in sixth.
Marc Marquez put up a brilliant fight on the last lap, securing the seventh position and earning championship points for his team. Augusto Fernandez also delivered a strong performance, achieving a double point-scoring finish for Red Bull GASGAS Tech 3 by crossing the line in eighth place ahead of Trackhouse Racing’s Miguel Oliveira.
