Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen, has officially signed a contract extension with the club, solidifying his commitment to the reigning Serie A champions until 2026.
Despite swirling transfer speculations linking the 24-year-old Nigerian forward to notable clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, Osimhen has opted to continue his journey with Napoli.
Having begun his senior career at Wolfsburg, Osimhen made a significant move to Naples from Lille in July 2020. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in Napoli’s attacking force.
In the previous Serie A season, Osimhen showcased his goal-scoring prowess by topping the league charts with 26 goals in 32 appearances. Napoli secured the Scudetto with a comfortable 16-point lead, and Osimhen contributed 31 goals in all competitions.
The current season has seen Osimhen face challenges with injuries, causing him to miss several games. Nonetheless, he has managed to net seven goals in 12 league appearances, with his latest contribution against Cagliari last Saturday.
The contract renewal underscores Napoli’s confidence in Osimhen’s abilities and marks a significant moment in the striker’s commitment to the club’s future success.
