The National Secondary Schools Term One Games in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, have witnessed some exciting action in hockey and basketball.
St. Anthony Kitale from Rift Valley, the defending champions in hockey, topped Pool A after defeating Maseno 5-0 and qualified undefeated with 9 points. In Pool B, Musingu topped the group with 7 points.
In the girl’s category, Nyamira Girls topped Pool A, followed by St. Josephs. The semi-finals in the boy’s category will see St. Anthony face Mang’u High School, while Musingu will take on Meru School.
In basketball, Dagoretti topped Pool A in the boys’ category, while Laiser Hill is leading the log in Pool B. In the girls’ category, Butere is leading the pack in Pool A, followed by defending champions Kaya Tiwi.
The semi-finals are set to be played on Thursday, with the finals on Saturday. Brookside Dairy has resumed sponsorship of the competition after it was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic for two years, investing over Ksh.14.5 Million, kitting all the players, and providing refreshments to the players and match officials.
